Pregnancy and Postpartum

Rusty Barbell’s pregnancy and postpartum coach can help you strategically train during and after your pregnancy. Our coaching focuses on core stability, pressure management strategies, postural awareness, corrective exercise, and above all helping you stay strong and reduce common aches and pains during pregnancy and postpartum. In addition to general fitness, we also work with powerlifters and strongwomen to get back to competing after pregnancy. Training can take place in-person either one-on-one or in the group setting. We also offer virtual one-on-one training and remote programming.

Pregnancy

Every pregnancy is different, we will work with you at every stage to make sure your training is tailored to you and your pregnancy. In general, we will focus on core stability, maintaining strength, and learning strategies to give you a solid foundation for moving through pregnancy while also preparing you for postpartum recovery.

Postpartum

If you are newly postpartum training will focus on reconnecting with your core and pelvic floor. As you build strength and capacity, we will gradually increase exercise volume and load to safely and strategically build a balanced base of strength and conditioning.

Our pregnancy and postpartum coach is skilled in working with postpartum conditions such as diastasis recti and pelvic organ prolapse, as well as general aches and pains that can occur during the postpartum period (ex. low back pain, hip pain, neck/upper back stiffness).

While early postpartum can be a challenging and exciting time, we also know that postpartum is forever and physical symptoms from pregnancy and birth can last longer than just those first few weeks.
